Daniel Rimmelzwaan

United States

Cloud Ready Software

At the end of 1999, when he moved to the United States from The Netherlands, Daniel was a VBA/Access developer. In his search for a job in that field, he was offered a job as a Navision developer in March of 2000, by a global partner in Michigan. Impressed with the simplicity of the tools, he was billable almost immediately, and what seemed to be a temporary job turned into a fulfilling career that has spanned almost two decades.

Daniel has worked for a number of VAR partners, and did a lot of freelance work. He performed a broad range of jobs in the field, doing business analysis, solution design and development, training, project management, and he was responsible for quality at an international partner.

Currently, Daniel is one of the owners of Cloud Ready Software, an ISV Development Center that helps ISV partners (and also VAR partners) take their IP into the cloud.

Due to his involvement in the online community, Daniel was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Award in July of 2005, and he has been re-awarded every year since then.

Daniel lives with his wife and two kids in Flagstaff, Arizona

Hosted sessions

A day in the life of a Business Central developer
LEVEL: 300 - Advanced
Conference Hotel

Our world is always changing, and it is changing faster and faster. The development environment keeps getting more flexible, which means that you need to know about more things each time that a new update comes out. The sheer number of things that you need to know about can feel overwhelming.

This workshop will give you the skills that you need to get a grip on the whole thing. We will start with an empty slate, and we will go through all phases of a development project, and cover every step of the way.

You will learn how to set up a development environment using Docker, how to create a source code management repository, how to approach different ways to do source code management, how to manage a project using Visual Studio Team Services, how to build all of the elements that come with a Business Central app, how to do automatic testing, how to submit apps to AppSource and how to maintain them, and everything else that comes with being a Business Central developer.

Workshop date: Tuesday 20 or Wednesday 21 November. This is a one day workshop.
