Last year's conference proved to be very successful. And as NAV '7' will be released this year, we have decided to organize this conference again this year.

Again it will be dedicated to Microsoft Dynamics NAV developers & consultants, offering lots of technical sessions and interaction with the Microsoft product team.

The NAV TechDays 2011 conference is sold out!

One week before the start of the conference, we have 450 participants.
You can only purchase tickets for the evening reception on Thursday 29 September, from 17:30 to 21:00.

Change of speakers

Unfortunately, Stuart Glasson is not able to host a session at the NAV TechDays 2011 conference. The .NET interop session is now presented by Vjekoslav Babic.
And a new Microsoft speaker has joined the ranks: Bas Graaf. He will host the Bug-free development session, which is now titled "High-quality test automation for NAV applications".

Because of this change in speakers, we had to reschedule some sessions. Please take a look at the updated agenda .

Microsoft ended support for the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Developer Toolkit (NDT) and has decided to discontinue sale as well effective October 1, 2011 (PartnerSource announcement). Partners and customers are encouraged to explore alternative tools already available in the market. The two cited tools happens to be present with a booth and/or session at the conference.

Administrating NAV '7.0' with Windows PowerShell 2.0

This session showcases the administration improvements introduced in Dynamics NAV '7.0'. Demos for this talk include how easy NAV administrators can manage NAV Server Instances, without the need for programming skills. Differences between problem solving at hand or automating your IT processes are explained. Furthermore the Management Console based UI will be demoed.

Bug-free Development in NAV

Developming something from scratch is difficult enough, and making sure stuff always works, and always works as intended, becomes a growing trouble as the codebase grows even if you've personally written each line of code, and know it by heart. However, when you inherit a codebase with several thousands existing objects, such as NAV, touching feature A may bring down feature B, and fixing feature B may break features C and D and E.

Test-driven development has been around long ago and has taught developers that testing before developing is the best way to go. But alas, in NAV, we had no testability features, those that would simplify or even enable proper testing approach. On top of all this add the debugger which leaves far too much to be desired, and you have a recipe for generating thousands of lines of untested code. And an unstable system which can collapse at a slightest breeze. Thankfully, NAV now comes not only equipped with good testability features, but also Microsoft has provided us with test scripts for the whole ERP. This presentation will teach you how to harness those tools, how to develop bug-free applications, how to test before development, and after all - why this all matters.

Conference fee is set

The conference fee is 290 EUR (excl. 21% VAT) if you register on or before 20 May 2011.

Access to the reception on Thursday evening is included in the above cited conference fee. If you can't spend 2 days at the conference, or if you want to invite your relations, then a separate ticket can be purchased. A. For every 4 full conference tickets bought, you'll get one extra ticket for free. When you buy 4 tickets you can send 5 people to the conference, when you buy 8 tickets you can send 10 people, etc. All registrations should be done using the same company details & invoice address. Please use the contact page to let us know how many tickets will be bought, so we can create the correct invoice.

NAV TechDays 2011 has been rescheduled

Due to the broad range of Dynamics NAV conferences within the EMEA region, we have decided to reschedule our NAV TechDays conference. Instead of May 2011, this 2-day conference will be rescheduled to October 2011. A final date has not been decided upon, but we expect it will take place in the 2nd half of October 2011.
