Author and psychologist Prof Richard Wiseman is based at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, and has gained an international reputation for research into luck, deception, the paranormal, humour, and the science of self-help.

A passionate advocate for science, Prof Wiseman has written four best selling books that have been translated into over thirty languages - The Luck Factor, Quirkology, 59 Seconds and Paranormality. Prof Wiseman has presented keynote addresses at The Royal Society, Microsoft, Caltech, and Google. Over 2 million people have taken part in his mass participation experiments, and his YouTube channel has received over 15 million views. He is one of the most quoted psychologists in the British media, and the Independent on Sunday named him as one of top 100 people who make Britain a better place to live.

Prof Wiseman also regularly acts as a consultant,and has recently worked with Derren Brown, The MythBusters, CBS's The Mentalist, Heston Blumenthal, Nick Cave, and the West End play 'Ghost Stories'.
